Haute Couture Fashion Week: Aelis unveils an NFT project for its fall 2021 collection

As part of fashion week, the couture brand Aelis strikes a blow by offering a virtual parade with NFTs: we tell you more!

When haute couture meets NFT: the sensational experience of fashion week 2021

Italian designer Sofia Crociani wanted, once again, to convey a positive and committed message with her collection , inspired by ecology where we find spider dresses, but also the discoveries of Viriginie Maris, researcher at the CNRS, on the decolonization of nature.

With a microcosm of nature, the haute couture designer has once again seen things big, but what particularly marks her new collection is the novelty of the year: Aelis stands as the first fashion house to exploit non-fungible tokens (NFT) for its fall 2021 collection presented during Haute Couture week.

The house’s press release states: “Aelis, true to its eco-friendly identity, offers its art, for the very first time in the world of haute couture, in the innovative form of NFTs“.

The artistic director of Aelis, Sofia Crociani, always draws her fashion ideas from nature. Last season, for example, the collection was inspired by ecology but also in the praise of art, making its models true works of art. What was most surprising was the highlighting of NASA tests carried out in the 1960s on spiders which would have started weaving new webs after ingesting drugs, and bees because these have no negative impact on their environment.

Furthermore, Crociani often uses vintage fabrics and new materials in his designs, providing a subtle blend between 1950s haute couture and new materials at work that give a sense of lightness and luxury.

Fashion Week haute couture: Aelis unveils a NFT project for its fall 2021 collection

For her fall 2021 collection, which will be presented virtually on Thursday July 8, the designer has decided to pursue her eco-responsible commitment beyond the borders of reality by going into the virtual world. Considering that the blockchain is able to create new spaces of freedom, which break the traditional codes of fashion, Aélis is therefore launching a one-of-a-kind NFT experience following the adoption of NFTs by Fashion Week last June.

“These new spaces of creation and freedom, built on blockchain technology and constantly breaking codes, are known to be developed in correlation and harmony with NFTs“, indicated the house.

The first house to offer its art in the form of NFTs, Aélis therefore wishes to combine respect for the environment with a virtuous virtuality of immortal and transcendent NFTs.

A project that once again shows how NFTs are disrupting the world of retail and luxury, opening the way to a new form of art expression that extends physical and material art .

Behind this desire, finally, is a desire to consume less in the physical world in favor of creation in the virtual world.

Remember that NFTs have experienced unprecedented growth in recent months, popularized in particular by artists through works of art that sell for unbeatable prices, but also player cards or even music .

We invite you to watch the brand's virtual fashion show which will take place on July 8, and not to miss any news about NFTs on Cointribune.
