Farfetch is launching a pre-order program.

In collaboration with ten houses, the e-commerce platform now offers its customers the possibility of pre-ordering pieces before their release.

Farfetch: anticipating demand.

"When it comes to fashion, you can never be too far ahead" can be read on the new tab of the site. Alongside Balenciaga, Dolce & Gabanna, Khaite, Nanushka, Palm Angels, Nicholas Kirkwood, Oscar de la Renta, Casablanca, Off-White and New Balance Collabs, Farfetch has set up a pre-order service since August 25, allowing customers to invest in pieces that have not yet been released on brand sites or sales platforms.

While the offer aims to bet on exclusivity, it also makes it possible to counter consumer frustration, with certain pieces going out of stock a few minutes - or even seconds - after they are put online. In addition, the service will allow the brands involved in the operation to rely on an eco-responsible approach by adjusting production as closely as possible to demand.

According to Farfetch, pre-ordered items will ship in approximately four weeks.

In parallel with this announcement, the platform unveiled its results for the second quarter of 2021. Over these three months, Farfetch's revenue increased by +43% year-on-year, reaching $523 million.
