Ferrari made his haute couture debut

(Milan) The Italian manufacturer of luxury cars Ferrari has moved up a gear to diversify his universe, by presenting a first fashion collection on the prank horse and launching into the star kitchen.

In a surreal atmosphere, models paraded Sunday in the middle of the assembly lines of its historic factory in Maranello in the north of Italy, sporting looks that give pride of place to the fetish colors of the brand, the red and theyellow.

With this "fashion show at the factory", Ferrari intends to "support excellence and best Italian creativity," said its president, John Elkann, quoted in a press release.

Cette première collection de haute couture par Ferrari porte la signature du directeur de création du groupe, Rocco Iannone, ancien designer de Giorgio Armani et de Dolce & Gabbana.

Surprised bombers and parkas, mixing nylon, silk and recycled fabrics, alternate with a wide or adjusted skirts, shorts and pants, all adorned with printed logos.

"Cars have no sex, just like clothes," comments the brand, claiming a "daring and fearless style" suitable for both women and men.

Tuesday, Ferrari will continue on the reopening to the public of the legendary Cavallino restaurant in Maranello, under the aegis of the famous Italian chef Massimo Bottura who has three stars in the Michelin guide.

This is where the charismatic founder of the Enzo Ferrari brand had its habits and received in a small private room employees, customers and friends.

The restaurant, open for the first time to the public in 1950, was reshaped for a year and a half by the architect and designer India Mahdavi.
