The American model, actress and LGBT rights activist poses for Prada's new Galleria bag. A new strong act by Hunter Schafer for the visibility of trans women.

Each collection has its face, its image, its muse. For its new Galleria bag, the Italian luxury brand Prada has chosen Hunter Schafer, who poses in a sparkling and soft advertisement. Actress and LGBTQI+ activist, Hunter Schafer thus becomes the first trans and lesbian woman to embody the brand.

Known for her photos with Dior, Marc Jacobs or Thierry Mugler, Hunter Schafer was also an actress in the Euphoria series, broadcast on HBO. She plays Jules Vaughn, a trans teenager who has an important role in the series, for which she also wrote the script for one of the episodes she directed. A way for her to accompany the director, Sam Levinson, in his desire to be as realistic as possible about the life of a young trans woman.

Prada's commercial, directed by Xavier Dolan, is built around a bedroom overflowing with objects of all kinds. In this video, the young Canadian filmmaker seems to have fabricated a sequence of micro-stories marked by "a joyful mood", in the words of the brand's boss. “With the anxiety-provoking health context and the resulting restrictions, there is a natural desire to smile again,” adds Patrizio Bertelli in Attitude.

As for the choice of this actress to embody the new product, welcomes the boss, it "was coherent and in tune with the fall show and we have a good relationship with her, she worked well with us and us too". “Hunter Schafer is our heroine, Prada completes on her site. In 2017, on the radio, the supermodel told of her pride in being a trans woman. "I like people to know I'm not a cis woman because it's not something I am or who I feel like. I'm proud to be a trans person." Two years later, Hunter Schafer announced to the press that she was a lesbian.
