Shock video: French luxury horror at the Sobeval slaughterhouse

The activist was arrested by the police and spent 36 hours in police custody. One Voice considers that she had the right to enter the slaughterhouse and film there.

Cruelty towards animals, the hidden side of French leather goods

It is a slaughterhouse that the big names of French leather goods know well: Vuitton, Hermès, Chanel and LVMH all provide themselves there in calves of calves. But the slaughterhouse of Sobeval, in Dordogne (which belongs to Vandrie Group), is also the scene of an incredible cruelty towards animals. This is the hidden side of French leather goods, the one that the giants of the sector would have liked to be silent. But, as is often the case in recent years, there too, he has been a whistleblower.

Having heard of this slaughterhouse, the One Voice association asked one of its activists to introduce and film it."Young cattle arrive by truck, tight, sometimes injured or sick. They still have to wait for the slaughterhouse opening. In the early morning, men bring them into the slaughter chain, under the blows if necessary, confined by some.[…] Then it’s the hellish merry -go -round.They advance hundreds in a labyrinthine line which has only death as destination.Stunned or not according to the type of slaughter, taken from spasms, hanged by a paw crossed of a hook, head down, they seem to regain consciousness before their throat is decided.Blood gushes and spreads in the channels and everywhere around.Their skin is torn off, then their body cut into methodically pieces, "says the association on its website.

Calves killed for their soft skin, without any concern for their well-being

One Voice already announces its intention to file a complaint for these acts of cruelty to animals, supporting videos. The association has also just launched a petition requiring the immediate closure of this slaughterhouse.According to One Voice, 500 to 600 calves a few months old are killed every day in this slaughterhouse. And for good reason, the skin of the calves, much fine and soft than that of their elders, is sold much more expensive.

For this introduction into the slaughterhouse, the One Voice activist, however, paid dearly.Arrested by the police, he spent 36 hours in police custody. One Voice considers, however, that he was in his right."What should we do when the authorities do not respect the low laws that exist to protect animals?"Be silent?Let go?While those who mistreat animals can continue without being worried, our investigator spends thirty-six hours in police custody. The day the law is respected, when cruelties will be sanctioned, there will no longer be a need for whistleblowers. But that day, we are still far away… ”, reacted Muriel Arnal, president of One Voice.
