Zenith Chronomaster Revival Poker Chip

Zenith and SJX Watches have an elegant reinterpretation of one of the most coveted vintage watches of the house with the Revival Chronomaster "Poker Chip", freely inspired by the El Primero G383. Affectionately nicknamed "Poker Chip" by collectors, the G383 is considered to be one of the most fascinating models of the Zenith archives. The G383 was launched in 1969 and is one of the rarest and most sought after variations of the first variants of El Primero. This model, which draws its roots from the psychedelic era of the late 1960s, recalls the A386 and its tricolor dial. The G383 is characterized by an astonishing provision while sectors, which makes it one of the most extravagant timepieces of the decade. Developed in partnership with one of Zenith's trust suppliers at the time, the dial is immediately distinguished by its daring alternation of colors recalling a poker token, which earned it its nickname. Today, the inimitable style of the G383 gave birth to this new collaboration: a project initiated in May 2020 when Su Jiaxian, founder of the Singapore watchmaker SJX Watches, contacted the product and heritage development director at Zenith, Romain Marietta , with a proposal to revive the G383 with a singular and modern touch. The objective of the tandem was to reproduce the flagship elements of the G383 model, while instilling elegant and contemporary accents. This is how the poker chip was born, with a design that is based on shades of gray as well as a generous part of super -luminova in order to recreate the G383 in daylight - and in darkness . "I admired the El Primero for a long time for its longevity, and Zenith for its rich heritage," explains SJX. “I wanted to do something that combines movement and its history; But rather than a remake, I wanted an achievement that could seem a paradox: a design immediately recognizable as the G383, while being undoubtedly new and different. The Poker Chip dial is dark gray with printed sectors in matt black and enhanced with super-luminova. We still find this luminescent material on indexes, chronograph scales, as well as on the various radial patterns around each counter. A nod to the emblematic shield watch of Zenith, she uses the same 38 mm box as the El Primero A386, but made of microblined titanium, which gives it a finely grained dark gray finish which echoes the colors of the colors dial. The titanium box houses the El Primero movement, fundamentally the same caliber which marked history in 1969, also visible through the sapphire background. Each Revival Poker Chip chronomaster is delivered with two fabric bracelets, one in matt black and the other in pale green dressed in super-luminova. Edition is limited to 200 copies, available in Zenith stores and electronic commerce from around the world, as well as via SJX Watches.

Breguet Tradition 7035

When the house reveals the tradition line, it caused a sensation: its timepieces are the first to present the entire organs of the movement on the dial side. Ode with the most sharp watchmaker, this collection is also part of the history of Breguet. Its models are the contemporary interpretations of the subscription watches imagined by Abraham-Louis Breguet, which were characterized in particular by the architecture of their caliber while symmetry. Today, Breguet completes this emblematic line with a model limited to 88 copies, which gives pride of place to crimping. The new 7035 tradition has the typical codes of the collection such as the eccentric dial, housed here at 12 noon and completed by a white mother -in -pearl tour, which thus offers a clear view of the entirely exposed movement. The latter revolves around the central barrel, recognizable by its rosette pattern, which surrounds itself with traditional bridges, wheels, barrel and pendulum arranged. Breguet marries this new creation with the finesse of jewelry by opting for the snow setting technique. 18 -carat gold chosen to make its dial, platinum and bridges thus accommodate diamonds of different sizes in order to minimize the apparent material. This results in maximum shine. Brilliant -cut diamonds also illuminate the telescope of tradition 7035. For the indication of the second retrograde, the house opted for a gradient of ruby and pink sapphires which echo the ruby of movement and that housed on the crown. A leather bracelet in the same colors completes this new timepiece. Girard-Perregaux, the continuation of the spectacle continues on the back with an oscillating mass in gold which takes up the motif of the barrel and which recalls that an automatic reassembly caliber animates this creation. Bearing the 505J reference, it has an anchor exhaust with silicon horns and a silicon breguet spiral.

Christophe Claret al-Ula

A great lover of history and culture, Christophe Claret reveals a watch whose symbolic power is highlighted by the ingenious optical phenomenon of the Mirascope. At the center of this limited edition carrying a message recalling the history and civilizations of the East which founded the foundations of modern society: Al-Ula, a basin extending from Jordan to the Desert of Arabia , sumptuous witness to Nabatean civilization, seems literally to spring from the dial through its emblematic monument. Christophe Claret never stops surprising. As a true virtuoso of watchmaking, he plays with mechanics, reinventing the codes and creates a new vision, very personal, of the race of time. This philosophy presided over the creation of the Al-Ula watch which, thanks to the optical phenomenon of Mirascope, pays homage to a civilization and a rich culture old over three miles. Al-Ula, the capital of the Kingdom of Dedan, is today a site of major cultural importance and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It welcomes in its SERING al-Hegra and Mada’in Saleh. The site has several dozen monuments incredibly preserved since late antiquity. One of these monument, very famous in its symbolism, is microphone engraved and highlighted thanks to Mirascope, an invented process a thirty years ago at the University of California. The latter is made up of two parabolic mirrors placed on each other, the upper mirror being holed in its center. When an object is placed in the middle of the lower mirror, the image of it, in other words the light rays that compose it, are reflected and agreed almost twice. These rays are concentrated in the opening and then form a hologram. Thanks to this optical effect, the monument then gives the impression of literally getting out of the watch, then offering a 360 -degree vision of the emblematic memorial which resisted all the phenomena to testify to the grandiosity and talent of this civilization past.

In line with all the timepieces signed Christophe Claret, the Al-Ula watch meets the criteria of the high watchmaking has always defended by the brand. Technically, it was first to perfect the extremely demanding focus of the Mirascope. Two months of calculation and the realization of several prototypes were necessary to obtain the expected optical effect. Then, it is the design and manufacture of the needles of the hours and minutes that have been redesigned: unable to be placed in the center of the dial due to the presence of the Mirascope, they were brought back to the rehabilitation and provided with counterweights for guarantee their stability. By their shape, these needles look like domes. The other difficulty was to find an extremely light material to compensate for their dimension and volume. The problem was resolved by the use of anticorodal (aluminum). On the aesthetic side, no details have been left to chance. The Al-Ula watch multiplies the emblematic elements and references to the ancestral culture of the region. First, the dial that opens onto the emblematic monument of Mada’in Saleh is engraved in solid pink gold. The green color, in connection with the Arab culture of the past and the present. In order to accentuate the symbolism of the room, the Arabic figures and the "al-Mim" patterns were engraved on the rehabet. The front of the watch reveals a calligraphy drawn with the Diwani style by a master calligrapher, "al-Ula and the magic of the East"; This is filled with a hand engraving. The aesthetic and symbolic spectacle continues on the back of the Al-Ula watch. The ball bearing cover is adorned with a engraving of the CHRISTOPHE CLARET brand around which turns the oscillating mass in green sapphire of the automatic winding movement. Note that Christophe Claret obtained a patent concerning the sapphire element binding the ball bearing with the reassembly mass hidden behind a circle. Shaped in green sapphire to better reveal the neat finishes of the movement in transparency, all decorated by a pattern on a hand engraved by hand with a filling in green enamel. Finally, the background is engraved with the symbolism of the current geographic location of Al-Ula. The bottom of the watch designates important inscriptions in connection with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, guardian of Al-Ula today. All adorned with green email, the inscriptions "The Ilah Ila Allah Mohamad Rasool Allah" and "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia" are also calligraphy with the Diwani style and engraved by hand to perfect this extraordinary masterpiece. Indeed, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has made considerable efforts to promote this world heritage of humanity and recently made this wonder accessible to the public. By these words, everything is said, or almost ... The perimeter of the titanium case indeed reveals that only very few enthusiasts will have the chance to display one of the Al-Ula watches on their wrist.

HERBELIN Automatic inspiration moon phases

Inspired by the first models created in the 1950s by the French watchmaker Michel Herbelin, automatic inspiration competes in elegance by its revisited classicism. City watch par excellence, it arrives today adorned with a most poetic watchmaking complication. Informing moon phases at 6 a.m., this timepiece, published in a limited series numbered in 500 copies, is dressed in a hand-patted leather bracelet, completing the timelessness of this new watchmaker Made in France. Since 2020, the third generation Herbelin has manifested a real desire to associate more watchmaking complications with the French brand timepieces. “Give access to a good mechanical watchmaking good to a larger number of enthusiasts: this is our ambition, while retaining a sharp value for money. »Explains Maxime Herbelin, grandson of the founder and associate marketing director. "Automatic Inspiration Phases of the Moon is a fine example. This is the first time that an automatic watch Michel Herbelin has been associated with a display of moon phases. The fifties elegance of this watchmaker is in total adequacy with this complication "specifies Mathieu Herbelin, grandson of the founder and director of associate creation. At one time, the sun and the moon were the only benchmarks that man had to cut the seasons, the months and the days. It is therefore logically that the moon has become the favorite star of watchmakers. At the tempo of this tradition, the new watchmaker Michel Herbelin attracts the look with its opening at 6 a.m., welcoming an indicator of the moon phases. Directed on a lacquered midnight blue disc punctuated with stars in a deliberately minimalist spirit, it reflects, like reality, each stage of the metamorphosis of the lunar star. Very simple to be adjusted by the crown chalped ball decorated with a blue spinel cabochon, this watchmaking function is linked to the passing time, clocked by a counter date at 3 a.m.

Polished over its entire surface, this moon phases automatic inspiration model has a 40 mm diameter box in 316L stainless steel. Extended by discreet tapered horns, its all in roundness reveals a convex dial circulated by a thin telescope. Protected by a curved sapphire glass to accentuate the vintage spirit, the three subtly curved "dagger" needles animate a silver background oscillating under the effect of light thanks to its brushed sun finish. Sobre by its color, it gives a precise reading of the hour via a timer clearly arranged at the rate of anthracite rhoded index. While remaining faithful to the spirit of the Inspiration collection, this limited series is also distinguished by the dressing of a new brown leather bracelet, made in a French workshop respectful of traditional know-how. After a vegetable tanning, it is covered by hand with several successive layers of patina, giving it a unique aspect coming to complete the timeless mind of the watch. This novelty unveiled by the French watchmaker Michel Herbelin has a mechanical movement with automatic reassembly of Swiss invoice with proven reliability: the Sellita SW 280. With 26 rubies and oscillating at 28,800 alternations per hour, it benefits from a comfortable reserve of 41 hours. The purists will appreciate the transparent box background revealing the cogs of movement whose oscillating mass engraved Michel Herbelin. Made in France for having been drawn, assembled, adjusted and controlled in the workshops Michel Herbelin, based in the Jura massif in Franche-Comté, automatic inspiration phases of the moon inherits a traditional French watch know-how son for almost 75 years. Combining unison in poetry and functionality, this timepiece, published in only 500 copies, is available for sale from November 2021.
