Cléone is a fashion designer with an impressive career, who led her to New York, Tokyo, Moscow.Based in Strasbourg since 1978, she was born in Thouars, which she remembers with emotion.
What relationship do you have with Thouars?
Cléone: "I was born in Thouars.I left it at 14-15 years old, for a boarding school in Paris in Paris.I rarely go back, I have little family left there.Five-six years ago, I found the city a lot.Very sad, almost disaster.It was a very lively small town, with the market, the small shops.I had a shock, because the heritage of the city is magnificent, there are very beautiful buildings that fall in ruins.A city like Thouars, if there were the financial means to restore it, could be a high place of tourism.»»
What memories do you have with it?
"My father worked wood, he was a cabinetmaker in Thouars.My mother was going to sell our eggs at the market.They had a very large vegetable garden, with a chicken coop and an orchard with all possible fruit trees.We didn't buy anything, we had everything we need.In Thouars, many people lived like that.They were self -taught...
