The Bordeaux stylist launched last October a female ready-to-wear brand in her name during Paris Fashion Week.

Launching your brand, in a period characterized by uncertainty and change, it is the courageous challenge that Prune Goldschmidt brilliantly took up.The stylist, who made her ranges with Sonia and Nathalie Rykiel and designed monumental jewelry, has long favored her family life. His passion ended up regaining the upper hand and Prune presented his first spring-summer 2021 collection during October Fashion Week.Pieces that she imagined in a mischievous and fantasy spirit by reinterpreting bourgeois codes. She tells us about the genesis of her brand and shares her inspirations.

Why did you decided to create your brand in the middle of the pandemic?

I had planned to do a collection for a long time, a vital need to express myself. Two years ago, I started to set up a small design office to make the canvasesFrom my drawings.I was groping then the project matured over the meetings and its implementation really accelerated a year ago.I had not planned to set up my first collection in the middle of the pandemic, but ultimately it is a beautiful accident.I also found in the development of my first collection, as in the second for next winter, a refuge for our team, in Bordeaux, and also a good reason to fight against the gloom or the sadness of theexistence, forFreedom, truth and life

What inspires you?

Everything inspires me!This may be the emotion felt inFront of a photo (I think back to the Sarah Moon exhibition) or the attitude of a woman, her posture, her pace (inspirations that were transmitted to me during my experience in Sonia Rykielin his lifetime)...There is also and especially the world of childhood and adolescence that inspires me in a recurring way (maybe because I am also a mother...of five children!), For sweetness, candor and insolence sometimes!

Do you have any icons that influence you?

Prune Goldschmidt, la fantaisie d'une audacieuse

I am lucky to share my existence with a collector's husband (who helps me to carry out my project) so I am constantly rocked by this passion for art.I am an intuitive, I like the beautiful. It is less the artist who interests me than the meaning and the aesthetics of the work itself. For my last collection, I enjoyed browsing the book Fernand Léger made on the circus...

How does Goldschmidt differ from other brands?

My brand was bornFrom a well-being project and a sincere and spontaneous approach. My goal is to accompany women so that through a beautiful clothing, they take out insurance and embody respect.I do not cheat, my clothes are studied in France and are manufactured by French and European ways experts in the world of luxury who work for the older ones.My ambition is to make high quality clothes, well cut and in noble materials, neat in the smallest details and facts to last.I like the idea of a garment that we are transmitted or that we rediscover years after because it is beautifully made.

What do you offer again?

An elegant cloakroom sometimes revisiting classics but not only, always with the meaning of the lag, of the unexpected.A form of surprise,Freshness and impertinence where we do not expect it!

What are your motivations ?

My motivations are endless...The desire to honor women, to serve them, to accompany them for the best opportunities, the desire to make the beautiful simply with honesty and humility.I know that it is not easy to combine a family life with a project that can be omnipresent but passion animates me and I am very determined. This project brought together several people, workshop, studio, communication, marketing, salesperson, which I also feel responsible today since it was I who embarked them in this project.

What is your positioning?

Beauty necessarily has a price, especially when you call on French workshops with recognized know-how and expertise, so my brand inevitably has a high-end positioning.Nevertheless I ensure that a large part of my creations are of an accessible luxury.

What do you think of the current situation in the luxury and fashion world?

She shakes up and heckles all the codes and maybe the fashion world will be changed.Women need real speeches, committed creators and proposals that serve them, more than being standard bearers of brands. The structure of the collections and the seasonality will inevitably change, we will have to be more careful not to produce unnecessarily and to be fairer and more precise in our creations, for environmental and ecological questions.

The parts are available in pre -order on the site and made on request for deliveries in March.
