The American creator signs a mini collection for the Animal Crossing: New Horizons video game.

Luxury invites itself to Nintendo.

Avatars also have the right to assert their style. A few months after seeing the birth of the trend of virtual influencers, Louis Vuitton announced its arrival in the world of e-sport last September by signing a partnership with League of Legends, unveiling a capsule collection as well as new “skins” . Now it's the turn of Marc Jacobs to join forces with the new installment of the Animal Crossing life simulation game.

To do this, the brand has teamed up with the Animal Crossing Fashion Archive Instagram account, which regularly lists virtual silhouettes created from scratch by players. Result: a mini catalog of six garments. Dresses, sweatshirts or coats, each of these creations is directly adapted from IRL pieces from The Marc Jacobs label. Something to familiarize gamers a little more with this “affordable” line, launched by the house at the end of 2018.

To obtain – for free – each creation, players are invited to go to the Stories on the front page of the Instagram accounts Marc Jacobs and Animal Crossing Fashion Archive in order to retrieve special codes listed within style sheets.

Marc Jacobs is not the only luxury brand to surf on the popularity of the game published by the Japanese company Nintendo. The Italian house Valentino has also shared a series of 20 silhouettes directly inspired by its Spring-Summer and Autumn/Winter 2020 collections.
