In her small workshop, installed in the family home, in Vassy (Valdallière), Cindy Lefort shows meticulousness and organization.

Since the beginning of autumn 2021, this 38-year-old Vasséenne has been offering her original jewelry created from cork, fabric, leather and stainless steel fasteners.
The name of his small business? Valdaliège, a nod to the town that saw him grow up.
Who is behind Valdaliège?
“These are the beginnings. Nobody knows yet who is hiding behind Valdaliège. On Facebook, we sent out a lot of invitations, arousing curiosity”, laughs the one who was able to present her creations discreetly.
It is true that, in the Bocage, Cindy Lefort is somewhat well known.
“I arrived in Vassy with my parents, in first grade. And I stayed there! »

After a vocational baccalaureate, she did her apprenticeship as a sales consultant in a clothing and accessories store in Flers.
“I wanted to pursue a BTS but I couldn’t find a company,” she recalls.
Then opened a store in Vire (Vire-Normandy) where she remained for 14 years.
Combining professional life and personal life
It took the arrival of two surprise babies, twins, to transform the professional career of this mother of four children.
“With a husband who is the deputy manager of a supermarket, I had to find something. Education is very important to me,” insists Cindy Lefort.
Sensitive to children, she first imagines herself as a school life assistant... but a global pandemic has turned her plans upside down.
“They didn’t want to bring new people into the schools,” she understands. "It's at the beginning of 2021 that I tell myself that I love working with my hands, selling... Why not combine the two? »
Create, here's an idea! But what ? A television program on the theme of cork gives him ideas.
Earrings, barrettes and soon rings
“With Christophe, we did some tests on earplugs, we did a lot of research on the internet…”
Before Valdaliège, the first jewels were born.
“We do everything ourselves, including the folders, business cards and wooden displays. »
And it pleases! Sold between €3 and €15, her earrings and barrettes are already finding their audience.
"I'm working on a collection of barrettes for children following demand," enthuses Cindy Lefort who, out of sight, is preparing new products. "I test rings and bracelets by wearing them, washing my hands... Even if it's handmade, I want it to resist!" »
So that everyone finds their account, the designer is betting on different shapes, different colors.
“There has already been a jungle, denim blue, abstract and timeless collection. For the autumns, I work on the color because, in the face of the rain, people are gloomy,” she explains, still smiling.
The upcoming Christmas holidays should also fuel his creativity.
“My goal is to combine my family life with my pleasure job. I create when they are at school and I can take care of them when they come home”, rejoices the one who seems to have found her way.
Inspired, she knows it: she can always count on the help and good advice of someone who has shared her life for 21 years.
